The Diski team played to a 1-1 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic in their opening match of the season at King Zwelithini Stadium this morning.
The team dominated play in the first half and kept Celtic on their toes as they attacked the goal at will. There was enterprising play between Seth Parusnath, Fikizolo and Magubane that saw the team create a number of opportunities to score.Celtic keeper had his game cut out for him though and did well to thwart the attempts to score. The break through came in the 28th minute though for Golden Arrows as Veluyeke Zulu pushed the ball into the back of the net, giving Arrows the lead going into the break.
Celtic came back fighting in the second half, and put Golden Arrows under pressure as they searched for the equaliser. Their persistance paid off, with Kobedi beating Goss. They kept Arrows under pressure and with it being equal both teams had to create opportunities. Golden Arrows found their confidence again though and started dominating the play, and even 2 well placed free kicks could not give them the lead again.
The team now go on to play SuperSport United next Sunday, 10am, 18th at King Zwelithini Stadium again.
