A much changed Diski side played to a 1 all draw with Free State Stars this afternoon at Dr. Molemela Stadium.
The first half was a fast paced affair with both teams making good use of their ball and playing up into the last third to look for scoring opportunities. Lamontville Golden Arrows opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when they were awarded a corner, they played it short and Magubane had a left footed shot that found the back of the net.
Free State Stars tried hard for the remainder of the half to find an equaliser, and were rewarded in the referees optional time when Kambi managed to secure a corner, the ball was played into the box and the skipper Filita managed to connect with an acrobatic shot and equalise just seconds before the half time whistle.
The second half was as fast paced as the first and both sides fought hard to find the back of the net in an end to end battle. Some clean and enterprising plays from both sides saw a number of promising chances but at the end of the full time it was a share of the spoils for the teams.
The side will next play Bidvest Wits at 12pm on the 29th January at George Thabe Stadium.
