The Diski side have played to a great 2-0 win over SuperSport United in the Multichoice Diski Challenge this morning.
In what started off as a static game with both teams battling to take advantage of their possession, it was Golden Arrows who managed to get the leading breakthrough after they were awarded a free kick just 20m from the box. In a well calculated move, Seth Parusnath played a lobbed shot over the wall that found Sibibi, and he headered the ball past Mpoto to give the home side the lead. The team held on for the remainder of the half and went into the break, retaining the lead.
The visitors returned to the field, making a substitution from the change room and for the first 15 minutes of the second half looked their most dangerous of the game as they attacked the last 3rd. They did well to force errors and were awarded a penalty which they failed to convert, pushing it high over the bar.
We then picked up our game and on a number of occasions created opportunities that saw us in the opponents box, however we could just not finish off. The second goal came in the 67th minute, with Sandile Dlamini finding himself one on one with the United keeper who was far off his line in defence. Dlamini chipped the ball over his head into the box to give the home side their second goal for the day.
We will travel next weekend when we meet Platinum Stars at Royal Bafokeng Stadium for their third game of the competition.
