We have snuck into the Top 8 of the league with a well deserved 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates this afternoon at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

In a tense game that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, it was Orlando Pirates that dominated the first half of play. They put continual pressure on our defence and opened the scoring in the 18th minute as Gabuza managed a header off a corner from Makola. This put us on the back foot and the side battled to get back into the game for a while.

We had some promising plays, but could just not get the equaliser before the half time break.

Coming back onto the field, the side seemed to have regained some composure and fought well to get back into the game. In the 61st minute we found our first breaktheough as Lamola took advantage of a lapse in the Pirates defence and put the ball in the back of the net.

It was then an end to end battle from both sides. Each using their possession to push up and try and break the defence. Both Gumede and Mabokgwane, for Orlando Pirates, had their work cut out for them and they each defended their goals with all they had.

We secured the win 3 minutes into additional time, when replacements Magubane and Mutizwa took advantage of their ball and scored. Magubane received the ball in the middle, and fed Mutizwa who chipped the ball over Mabokgwane who had left his line in defence.

A great final fight from the side for the season.

We would like to thank all of our supporters for your never ending support of the team, and the clubs appreciation for this is never ending.
