The first day of the Premier's Cup in Richards Bay was an eventful one for soccer in the province and the team, with a promising result against Maritzburg United in the second game of the day for us.

The first game of the day saw Real Kings take on Richards Bay FC. An exciting game ensued and after the full allotted time, no result was achieved. This ameant that the game was decided on penalties, with Real Kings coming out victors with a score of 3-1.

It was then our opportunity to take the field against Maritzburg United. We took a knock in the first three minutes after mzava failed to clear the ball which resulted in Maritzburg Fileccia to find the back of the net. The boys dug deep to fight back though, and proved that they had the fight and fitness to bring the game to the 'team of choice'.

We equalised off the boot of Lamola who put one past the keeper after a defensive mix up from the Maritzburg camp. Jooste had made a play up the right hand side of the field, and passed into the box where Lamola was waiting.

The action then Mutizwa score 2 and mahachi also added his name to the score sheet which saw us end up with a 4-1 win over Maritzburg. There was a great deal of promisng play from the team. We had great ball retention in the 90 minutes and the progression of the younger players is certainly visible on the field.

A promising performance as we head into the semi final tomorrow.

The last game of the day saw Amazulu take on Uthongathi FC in the final decider of the day.
