In what started out as an even footed game this morning, it was a fighting team of dedicated players that were victorious over a determined Baroka side.
It took some time for both sides to find their feet, but the action kicked off in the 20th minute after Jappie received his marching orders after receiving two yellow cards.
The remaining Arrows players knew they would have to fight for the win and thats exactly what happened. The side took the game into their hands and played for all they were worth.
The determination payed off in the 35th minute. Solid passing and crosses saw opportunities being created and Conco found the back of the net to get us the lead in the game going into the break.
The positivity of the play continued into the second half The team came back onto the park and continued their domination of the game. We scored again in the 53rd minute. Conco received a well deserved second goal of a solid assist from Mgwaba.
The young mans hat-trick eluded him however. Being fed the ball on two more occasions, he could just not find the mark again.
Playing with 10 men then started affecting our performance. Having to cover gaps, as well as setting a blistering pace of the game began to sap our energy. Baroka decided to take advantage of this and fought back with posession they had. They were awarded when Naicker failed to hold onto the ball after a save. The rebound fell favourably for them and they pulled a goal back.
This then gave the home side renewed hope and they fought to try and find an equaliser. Naicker did well to make a telling save to keep us in the lead and Baroka were just not able to break the determination that the Diski boys had for the win today.
A well deserved 3 points to the lads who will now have a break until the 11th of November when they meet Amazulu in a KZN Derby game at Dobsonville Stadium.
