A last minute goal from debutant Thomas Chideu ensured we secured a draw against Polokwane City and remain unbeaten so far in the Absa Premiership.
The visitors struck in the 7th minute of the game when Ramagalela found the back of the net off a rebound ball that had struck the upright from a free kick. Both sides had been fighting hard to make a break through and City gained an upper hand for a short time. Mutizwa equalised just 4 minutes later. Lamola had an outstanding cross from the right. Mutizwa, unmarked on the far post, headed the ball in to put the teams on equal grounds again. This was the resulting score until the break.
Both sides returned to the field seeming non commital in their play, waiting to see what the other had decided on the game plan for the second stanza.
It was again Polokwane City who took the lead in the 69th minute. Ramagalela fed the ball to Seabi who made no mistake in finding his mark.
An epic battle ensued, both team fought to defend their goals while making worthy use of their attacking ball. Polokwane City defended well, not allowing us any free space in the last 3rd and making it difficult to create chances.
With full time on the clock and just 4 minutes additional time, things were not looking good, and our first loss of the season looked to be on the cards.
Chideu, who had replaced Lamola in the 76th minute, was played into a great position on the right of the goal, he composed himself and took the shot, scoring his first goal for the club and ensuring a point from the game.
We have a week to prepare now as we head into the Telkom Knockout game against Orlando Pirates at home next weekend.
