Larsen, born in Durban in 1971, has a history in the football fraternity as both player and coach. Having begun his playing career in 1991 for Crusaders United, he moved to Manning Rangers who he represented from 1992 until 1999, then again between 2001 and 2003 and for Orlando Pirates from 1999 to 2001. During his first stint at Manning Rangers he represented South Africa on two occasions in 1997.
After retiring from playing, Clinton made the cross over to coaching, with his first appointment being at Bloemfontein Celtic from 2010 to 2013. His career has seen him coach Maritzburg United and Roses United between 2013 and 2014 before once again returning to Bloemfontein Celtic until recently. Larsen did well at Celtic at the beginning of the season, laying a solid foundation for their 2015/2016 PSL campaign.
Clinton has achieved a number of goals while at the respective clubs including winning the Telkom Knockout with Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012, achieving a Top 5 finish in the PSL for the club in the same season, a first ever for Bloemfontein Celtic and was nominated as Coach of the Year while at Celtic. As a player he was in the team who won the Vodacom Challenge and PSL Title while with Orlando Pirates as well as winning the inaugural PSL Tile in 1996/1997 while with Manning Rangers. He has been an Ambassador for KZN Tourism, represented South Africa in both the National Football Team and SA National Beach Soccer Team.
