Kyle Dougherty was born 04 May 1984 in Johannesburg, he now lives in North Coast in Balito. He Completed his schooling in Johannesburg where he played squash at provincial level for 5 years.

Kyle went on to study a BSc. Sport Science at RAU, now known as the University of Johannesburg, where he also coached squash. There after he started studying a BSc Physiotherapy at the University of the Free State where he continued to played provincial squash. After completing his degree he moved to KZN in 2009 where he did his community service at Umlazi, during this time he became involved in Sports Physiotherapy.He helped out as a part time physio at Old Boys Rugby Football club for two seasons.

After community service he began work at Kings Park Sports Medicine Centre, a well known Sports Physiotherapy practice in Durban, there he came across numerous opportunities to work with amateur and elite sportsmen in a multitude of sporting codes, including rugby, football, golf, swimming, cycling, cricket and Mr Price comrades runners. He has travelled to numerous multi day mountain bike races and worked at events such as the dusi canoe marathon and the comrades marathon.

During his time at Kings Park Sports Medicine Centre he had the opportunity to work with Thanda Royal Zulu FC as their head physiotherapist and subsequently the Golden Arrows junior squads. Now he has been promoted to becoming a full time physio with the First team
