A nail biting finish to todays game saw us secure another home win and 3 points against Mamelodi Sundowns.

It was a game of two halves today with Sundowns dominating the first half of the game at a very wet Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. The Brazillians had a clear chance in the 10th minute to open their account but Morena pulled his shot to the right of target.

We had fewer opportunities than our visitors, and Mutizwa missed a chance when he was hasty on his final touch and narrowly missed his mark.

Sundowns were determined in the first 45, making sure to go into the break with a lead after Morena nudged in a low cross for a soft goal.

After the break we looked composed an determined to show what we were made of. Phiri took a shot on target just after 60 minutes, beating Onyango and equalising for us.

Our continual pressure on Sundowns then saw Mutizwa finally finding the back of the net off a great cross from Lunga.

The game plan paid off when the pressure saw us awarded a penalty after Parusnath made a great run in the box and was tackled from behind. Mutizwa stepped up, firing the strike past Onyango for a very defend-able lead.

This is when the game kicked into overdrive. Sundowns, feeling pressure of another loss then turned their play around. Jali pulled one back and with minutes left put an effort over the bar.

A good day at the office for the boys today and a well deserved win! We have a 2 week FIFA break, then we are back at Sugar Ray stadium to take on Masandawana for the Telkom Knockout Semi final game.
