We collected a point on the road tonight with a goalless draw against Stellenbosch FC at Danie Craven Stadium.

The game was a well contested affair with both sides giving all that they had in the hunt for a winning goal. In the first half we did well to make use of our possession and get behind the Stellenbosch defensive lines, but were not able to convert chances, with Sibiya and Conco both going wide on shots.

Gumede did well when under pressure this evening too, doing well to mark and defend his line and keeping a clean sheet as he dealt with a number of attempts from the home side.

The second half saw a change in pace for a while where we we more dominant on play. Stellenbosch sat back a bit and regrouped after some changes in the team and then picked up their pace and began their attack again. We looked better defensively than we have been and an improvement was clear as the boys seemed to handle the counter plays better.

Not the 3 points we would have hoped for on the night, but 1 to keep us positive as the season continues.

We have break until the 20th November now, when we return to the field at home against Orlando Pirates.
